Interview with Mark Madden, WXDX, 5/23/2012
For a while I was getting tired of blogging so much at the end of last year. I took a new approach this year, and have begun to have a much more enthusiastic interest in my blog. A combination of cool pics, some jokes, funny talk, baseball talk, whatever. Short, sweet, to the point, with some flare. And of course BASEBALLS, or as Mark Madden referred to them as, Cowhide Spheres/Horsehide Spheres, or a Josh Hamilton substance juiced sphere. Out of the blue I got an invitation from Mark Madden, Pittsburghs expert on hockey, and all around brash, in the face know more about sports then a Yinzer or average joe DJ for WXDX.
It turns out he reads my blog, by some way or another he found it, liked it, and gave me the chance to talk about baseball, ballhawking, and other animated topics. Hilarious, and so fun to be able to talk about something I love doing to the city of Pittsburgh.
From knowing Josh Hamiltons dealer, Aquaman ballhawk with a glove on each hand catching balls and swatting peeps, Conning the visiting team, tricks and gimmicks, electrodes and nipples, softball sized scars signed and tattooed, planning out routes based on hitters tendencies considering the fastest route to ball touchdown more complicated then Todd Haleys playbook, being able to field on the Pirates, and a conspiracy theory to solve the mystery of the dead and defused Pirate cannons!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fun stuff.
One thing I wanted to say that I didnt get a chance to say, as I kinda followed Marks interview without interjection that Ill take to say now is this. I thank God for my beautiful wife who puts up with my competitiveness, and for allowing me to be a part of the game which is truly a blessing.
“I never played for the records, I played for the love of the game.” –Ken Griffey Jr.
Well without any further talk by me, check out a cool ballhawking interview……………..
Stellar interview my man! 20 minutes with the super genius in glorious style.
Just wondering, did he pronounce your name right? I ask this because 1. I’ve never heard your name out loud and 2. He mangled the blog URL both times.
